This piece was inspired by a friend of mine (also married to a narcissist and going through a divorce at the same time as I) who said to me, “I feel like roadkill.” Later that day I came across a dead opossum on the side of the road. (I kid you not.) Needless to say, my friend and I both survived, revived, and ultimately thrived. (Roadkill, my ass.)
